Step 2: Modifying your Site
This is not as drastic as it sounds, but it is a very important step and must be done.
In order for your site to be a functioning part of the ring, you must have references to
Webring CGI scripts on the front page of your site. Before many of you flee in horror of
the thought of working with CGI, I will tell you that everything you need to modify your
page is right here for you to cut and paste into your page.
You should put the following on the main page of your site or the main page of the
section of your site that deals specifically with your fetish:
Step 1: Graphics
You should have a pair of graphics to put on your site to be an official member of the
ring. After some debate, it seems that there really is no standard image that should be
used for the ring. The variety of fetishes is too great. What I would like is for every
site to design it's own graphics, with a theme around the site itself. For those of you
that are not very artistic or do not have access to good image editing programs, there
will be two plain images to use:
These are the requirements for custom images:
- The graphic on the left-hand side should be a "Webring Home" button and should
contain the text "Transforming Love Ring" in it in addition to anything else you
deem appropriate for your site.
- The graphic on the right side should be a "Next Site" button and must contain
the text "Next Site" in it in addition to anything you deem appropriate for your
site.
- The graphics *should* both be the same size and shouldn't be too much bigger than the
plain graphics.
- I am very flexible about the graphics. The link graphics should integrate into your
site's page. They are not absolutely mandatory for inclusion into the Ring, but are highly
recommended.
These are the plain graphics: Just download these images to your hard drive and put
them on your web site in the same directory as the page you put the HTML fragment on.

Step 2: The HTML Fragment
Along with the graphics, this fragment of HTML must reside on the main page of your
site or on the main page of the relevant section of your site (this must also be the URL
that you submit to the Ring as the URL of your page) Just cut and paste the following code
into your page source, modify it according to the directions below and you will be one
step away from getting your site on the Ring:

Very Important:
- Replace "Your_Name_Here" with your name or handle and
"Your_Email_Address_Here" with your email address.
- Replace ALL instances of "SITE_ID_HERE" with the site id
number.You have to register your page in the form on the next page order to get the site
ID number and complete this step.
- If you are using custom graphics, replace the references to the plain graphics in the
code (don't forget to change the dimentions of the images too!) with your custom graphics.
If you are using the plain ones, don't forget to download them and put them on your page!
- I am very flexible about what the HTML fragment looks like. If you are competent enough
in HTML to do something else, like an imagemap or a JavaScript applet, go right ahead. The
only definite requirements are that ALL of the links referenced inside the above HTML
fragment are referenced in some way and that "Transforming Love Ring" and a link
to the homepage is displayed prominently.
- If you do not have a working HTML fragment (meaning all of the links are present and in
working order), your site CAN NOT be a part of the ring and WILL NOT be added to the Ring
until a working fragment is added.

plain graphics in it:
