Dear Diary,
Greetings and Salutations. This will be my first entry on your wonderful pages and hopefully not the last. I had asked the sorceress to give me a diary in the hope that I could record my thoughts and feelings. I had expected her to say no and cast a spell on me but she was feeling generous (whew) and conjured you up for me. I'm very grateful to her for this act of kindness. And I'm sure your family won't miss you too much. For all I know, you might be enjoying the words I put on your pages.
Well, I'd better go. I have some ingredients to sort in the store room but perhaps I could tell you more about my mistress when I return.
My mistress was in a somber mood today. She had run out of hemlock spores and the only place to find them was in a forest declared an anti-magic zone. Someone certainly came prepared. And I'm afraid his replacement was me.
My mistress had promised me that this would be a simple job, no monsters or traps, just a few forest animals to deal with.
Try telling that to my sore tail.
After retrieving what she'd requested, well let's just say that nothing helpful happened. (I certainly hope I never meet that bear again.)
But it wasn't a total loss. My mistress and I once read that an application of cold and then heat would cure most ailments so I don't mind dragging an iceberg around too much -- It's actually quite soothing. I just hope it doesn't turn what I think it wil______!!!
Dear Diary,
I'm sorry haven't written in you the last couple of days. To be honest, I couldn't find you because I didn't have any eyes. I'm afraid I caught the sorceress during one of her private sessions and she did not take the 'intrusion' well. We faced off, or rather I 'faced off' and I almost suffocated in the process. Fortunately, my mistress took pity on my plight and restored my nose so I could breathe but I wasn't permitted to see or say anything in my defence. I'm sure we'll be on speaking terms soon. In the meantime
Oh Diary, I'm sorry for the mess but some self-proclaimed 'sorceror hunters' came to the forest and tried to destroy my mistress. It was a terrific battle to be sure and the invaders soon 'realized their mistake' but it was at the cost of the beloved statue my mistress called home. I have reassembled the pieces and prepared the potion as she asked, but I'm not sure I said that mantra right. One thing I do know for sure is that she's going to be very angry when she reforms and oh my
Dear Diary,
I have wonderful news. My mistress has upgraded from the simple hovel those hunters destroyed to an elaborate palace and it has some beautiful new additions in its garden. Words cannot describe what occurred when my mistress regained her humanity but I can tell you that things will be very different from now on.
Sorry to leave you, diary, but I must see the new library before the mistress finishes her latest spell. I understand it will be her greatest incantation yet.
The battle scarred soldier closed the old book and took one more look at its unscathed cover before a cluster bomb blew away the wall he was leaning against. Somewhat stunned, he picked up his automatic rifle and aimed it at the approaching ogre, but with a wave of his hand, the ogre lifted the brave warrior and crushed him.
*AAAARGH!!*
Blood flowed like a river upon the soil, and tainted the soft leather cover with its splatter. As the soldier's remains collapsed upon the ground, one thought echoed in his mind -- Would there be hope for this shattered world or would its powerful invader truly prove herself unstoppable?
