Rickey Halsenbach falls in love with the new girl Haley, who happens to have a very big nose. All the guys laugh at her nose, and Winnie gets angry at Kevin for
being so shallow. When she does an oral presentation in english class about how she dislikes her nose, and that when she goes shopping nothing goes with a big
nose, it's very moving, to all of one person the school jock who's a quarterback. Everyone else laughs hysterically, and the incident runs the schools rumor mill.
Because of this, Rickey decides he cannot go to the dance with her, and he makes up a tragic story to get out of the situation. At the dance, Haley shows up and
Rickey realizes he was wrong. He asks her to dance but it turns out that she went with the quarterback, and Rickey left without anyone.
